Park Play...Benicia Style!

Benicia, California, is a quiet waterside city in Solano County. It was the first city in California to be founded by Anglo-Americans, and served as the state capital for nearly thirteen months from 1853 to 1854. Benicia is located in the San Francisco Bay Area along the north bank of the Carquinez Strait and is just east of Vallejo and across the strait from Martinez. It also happens to be home to Auntie Beth, Uncle Pete, and Kayla.

Benicia is a rather lush community with several parks within the city limits and wildlife areas nearby. There is a very quaint downtown area where we enjoyed an amazing sushi dinner (yum!) compliments of Uncle Pete and Auntie Beth.

The parks are the perfect place to go to run off energy and get some fresh air. Ben and Sam enjoyed the "Big Slide" park up on the hill in Benicia and also the "Castle Park" in downtown. The swirly slide, as Ben calls it, and the swings are the boys' favorite attractions.
