Monkeys Escape at the San Francisco Zoo!

Okay, technically no monkeys escaped but my two little monkeys were on the run all day at the zoo. Ben was thrilled to see so many different kinds of animals and Auntie Beth even let him use her camera to take some photos. Sam, on the other hand, was perfectly content seeing just the giraffes. They were the first animals we saw and after he requested over and over again to see them more, the last we animals we saw.

We actually ended up at the zoo after our original attempt to visit the California Academy of Sciences didn't work. We drove from Benicia into San Francisco mid-morning on Thursday thinking that we would miss traffic....wrong. It took quite a while to get into the city and then when we got to Golden Gate Park the line to enter the Academy of Sciences wrapped around the entire sidewalk nearly to the De Young museum. So, we found a sign pointing in the direction of the zoo and went with it! The weather was glorious and the boys were thrilled not only to be out of the car and city traffic but also to see the animals and enjoy the sunshine.

This koala seemed less than thrilled to have us watching it sleep.

Our borrowed "Jeep" for the day.

Ben and Sam riding the big bear.

Ben loves the macaws.

Not bad for a photo taken by a three year-old!

Love the elephant!

The giraffe....Sam's favorite (he says Raff)
